Elelcraft has raised the bar once again by updating the K3, now to be known as the K3S. The basic design was retained, but there have been some major changes in this new edition.
The K3SYN was introduced for all serial numbers from 8000 onwards. The remaining features are introduced new models K3S, which will start from serial number 10000.
New soft touch VFO knob.
0 remote control integrates USB port and line level audio, eliminating the need for PC sound card and cable.
KXV3A Board now replaced with KXV3B card that will now be included as standard.
The string. 6 m pre-amp will now be fitted as standard
. 5, 10 and 15 dB attenuator anymore now included
K3ATU option now has true bypass relay and lowest insertion loss.
Handset speaker to the audio output section Redesigned new high accurate high speed CW in SPLIT.
630 band coverage (470kHz) and below.
Redesigned low power 10W (driver's section) and updated the 100W PA.
The optional P3 Panoramic adapter should now fit retro hardware and firmware for controlling transmission.
State-of-the-art K3 Elecraft transceiver offers a unique combination of high performance and reliability. Both 100 watt and 10 watt (upgradeable) models are available, the K3 is comparable in both features and performance of transceivers that are more expensive.
In a first for the industry, identical primary receiver and K3 subreceiver boast a high-dynamic-range analog, down-conversion architecture. This allows Elecraft provide roofing filters with bandwidths as narrow as 200 Hz, while up-conversion designs have typically covers 3,000 to 15,000 Hz filters in width. Unlike some competitors designs down-conversion, K3 6 meters coverage and also provides continuous tuning between 0.5 and 30 MHz. Each receiver has its own mixer-bus switching, front-end filters ham-32-bit DSP at the IF bandwidth, low noise, synthesizer, and up to five filters Crystal cover.
Both fixed and variable Crystal broadband filters are available. variable filters are available in both voice and data bandwidths/CW-mode, and enable the monitoring between the Crystal and DSP filtering-a feature not available on any other platform at any price.
The K3 is the only luxury transceiver which caters to both home and field. weighing only 3.6 kg and dimensions of 10:00 x 25W x 25D cm, is suitable for demanding operations DXpedition or Field Day. His current reception mode escape less than 1 amp greatly facilitates mobile/RV/marine battery or solar installations. But unlike smaller handheld transceivers, the user interface of the K3 is optimized for ease of use, and its units have rivals many times its size and weight.
The transceiver is offered both in factory assembled and as modular, non-welding kit. In both cases, the owners K3 can start with a basic version of the transceiver, at a lower cost, then easily add modules later, as the internal subreceiver, ATU, and stage 100W. To ensure performance of both units pre-built modular kits and modules are at 100% assembled and tested at the factory. Builders learn the theory of radio behind each of the modules during Assembly, and to acquire skills that will enable them to easily add modules or future updates.
Two 32-bit digital signal processors provide defined software features real, with memory expansion to handle future signal processing tasks and operational rules. the operator will have full control over every work situation, with 8 bands of reception and transmission of EQ, stereo speaker/sound card outputs, Binaural effects, andAdvanced noise reduction. Also included is built-in PSK31, CW, TTY and encoding/decoding, so the operator can enjoy the excitement of communication data, with or without a computer. Full complement of i/o of the rig includes a block interface sound card, front/rear mic/phone jacks, dedicated serial I/O data, and band. An optional module provides transverter in/out and RX antenna in/out jack. These extensions are used to use filters RX-only, online to extreme operating environments.
Available options include: built-in 100W automatic tuner antenna with two antenna Sockets (KAT3), subreceiver (KRX3 system), band-pass filter module General front cover (KBPF3), 100W PA stage (KPA3), I/O RX antenna RF unit out and transverter interfacing (KXV3A), digital voice recorder (KDVR3) and our 2 m (144-148 MHz) all internal mode option (K144XV).
